API Foils boosts production in UK

19 June 2014

A £5 million investment will boost production of decorative foils at the Livingston, UK, manufacturing site of API Foils to meet increased demand.

The investment includes the installation of a new Bobst K4000 metalliser, which will increase the site's capacity for the process by 150%.

Managing director Will Oldham says: "The investment in this new metalliser means that we can offer our customers faster deliveries and more flexibility in what they order. It also means that we have the capacity for further sales growth. Having this new more flexible machine at our disposal enables us to more closely match our client's requirements for different widths with less waste. It also means that we can manage changeovers and quantities more accurately."

Phase two of the investment will see the installation of a new coater in early 2015 to run alongside the company's existing machines. The new coater will be the largest investment in API Group history, and make the Livingston site its largest foil manufacturer."
