Another record at Mondi Neusiedler

22 June 2009

Austrian paper manufacturer Mondi Neusiedler has set another world record on its 12-pocket cut-size line from Körber PaperLink Group companies ECH Will and Pemco. Within 24 hours, it converted and packed 636.8 tonne of A4 paper (80 g/m²) - including a record of 215.8 tonne during an 8-hour shift.

The versatile line converted 30 reel sets of 80 g/m² copy paper and reached speeds up to 400 m/min. During this time, the machines performed 38 order and 13 packaging material changes, due to small order volumes of sometimes only one pallet, equivalent to 200 reams.

Head of finishing departmen Thomas Novak enthuses: ”Last year, we broke the 600 tonne barrier with 614 tonne. The new record, especially combined with our complex order structure, shows that both our operators and machinery continuously reach their highest performance at a sustained level. I look forward to ‘raising the bar’ even higher in the coming months.”
