Another Polish plant for Amcor

11 April 2008

Amcor Flexibles is to build a €25M, state of the art plant in Lodz, Poland. The project is initially known as AF Polska Greenfield and will include the relocation of the existing flexibles factory AF Polska, currently based downtown in Lodz, and the installation of two new production lines.

AF Polska will vacate its current premises by the end of 2010 and move to the new site located in the Lodz Special Economic Zone, adjacent to but separate from the Amcor Reflex plant. Amcor Rentsch Polska will remain on the old site, where the additional space will be used for the development of that business.

The investment will increase the capacity of the existing plant considerably, and is expected to stimulate the local economy, create job opportunities and strengthen Amcor’s customer relationship and market development.

Gérard Blatrix, managing director of Amcor Flexibles Food, says: “This plant will be equipped with the latest technology and staffed with the best talent, and will be a key driver in our strategy to develop our business in the rapidly growing Central and Eastern European market.”
