Ampac acquires Swiss flexibles firm

Ampac Holdings has acquired flexible packaging firm Elag Verpackungen, based in Kirchberg, Switzerland, for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition will broaden and strengthen Ampac’s offering of quality pouching products.

Elag Managing Director Hansruedi Haeberli remarks: “Ampac’s technical expertise will be of great benefit to our customer base, and we envision our technical expertise benefiting Ampac’s customers as well.

The acquisition has further advanced our global capabilities and provided additional resources for the development of innovative packaging ideas.“

Joachim Antz, Managing Director of Ampac Germany, adds: “Elag is a very good fit with our current strategies. Its strengths in flexo printing and the strong capability in pouching at both our sites will significantly improve Ampac’s position in the European marketplace.”

Ampac President Global Pouching Division Marc Rapp states: “The innovative potential in Elag is the ideal completion of our service portfolio in Europe.”
