AMP launches transfer metallized label paper

18 October 2007

In a joint project with Stora Enso and Mitsubishi HiTec Paper, Amsterdam Metallized Products has developed a new high gloss, transfer metallized label paper.

Valvac Transfer Metallized SuperCote is offered as an alternative to all direct metallized label papers that allows end users to get a higher gloss for premium labels for beverages such as wine, champagne and spirits, as well as for wraparound labels for composite cans and glass jars.

AMP’s transfer metallizing process is said to provide a warm, clear silver without any ‘milky’ shades. This, in combination with the top lacquer used, guarantees good ink appearance, the company states.

The new one side cast coated, 86g/m2 paper is suitable for offset litho printing with standard inks (oxidative drying), as well as for UV inks and varnishes. It is available in sheets.
