Amcor's Panorama picked by Waitrose

26 October 2006

UK supermarket retailer Waitrose with its category management company Adare Packaging Solutions is the first to use Amcor’s Panorama system for fresh produce. Waitrose has chosen it for its own label range of prepared vegetables,

Developed initially by Amcor Flexibles for chilled food products such as cheese and fresh meat, Panorama is paper, strip laminated to a variety of substrates, to create a clear window for product visibility. It is said to combine the natural look and feel of paper with the functionality of the latest flexible packaging technology.

The Panorama pre-made bags supplied by Amcor Flexibles Ledbury are paper, strip laminated to 35 micron OPP with antimist and flexo printed eight colours by sister company Amcor Flexibles Venus. Using Amcor P-Plus MAP technology, the packs are designed for optimized shelf life whilst the clear window and antimist system enhances the visibility of the vegetables on the retail shelf, and the paper provides the look and feel to emphasize the traditional and high quality nature of the product.
