Amcor launches NaturePlus peelable PLA lid film

27 July 2007

Belgian ready salads company Rabbit is the first to commercially launch Amcor NaturePlus’ Peelable PLA film within the fresh produce sector, Amcor Flexibles says.

The compostable polylactic acid film manufactured from cornstarch is being used to lid PLA containers on a new range of premium prepared salads for European retailer Delhaize. The 40 micron peelable lidding film is also designed to maintain freshness and extend shelf life.

An Amcor spokesman says this compliments the growing range of environmental films supplied under the Amcor NaturePlus umbrella and its position in the growing fresh produce market.
