Alpha test for large format processor

16 November 2004

German prepress specialist Flexicon is alpha testing DuPont's new large format processor for the Cyrel FAST plate making system, which was first presented at drupa 2004.

The FAST system has been in the 90x120cm format market since 1999, and there are currently more than 300 users. It is said to make plate making up to 75 per cent faster, without the use of liquid chemicals. In 1996, Halle based Flexicon was only the second company worldwide to install the CDI laser technology, and today, with a plant capacity of 40,000m2, the company is said to have the largest resources for CTP flexo plate making in Europe.

In the practical tests taking place at Flexicon until early 2005, the new generation of Cyrel FAST TD 4260 equipment will be made ready for entry onto the market. It is intended for the highest volume segment of 106x152cm format, for plate thicknesses of 1.14-2.84mm.
