Ecografica, of Italy, has appointed Weko UK distributor for Optimizer, a patented system for alcohol elimination. The Optimizer is designed to maintain and accurately regulate the fountain solution in offset presses. As a claimed industry first, pH and electrical conductivity levels can be adjusted independently of each other and controlled automatically - stabilizing the whole water damping process.
The Optimizer is said to reduce costs, provide a considerable saving on ink and improve print quality. In addition, according to Ecografica, the system contributes to a healthier working environment through reduced VOC emissions. This helps printers maintain environmental management systems such as ISO 14001.
In addition, the life of the special damping solution is said to be extended through super filtration, saving on waste disposal costs and avoiding the expense of discarding alcohol containers.
The Optimizer system can be fitted to both new and existing presses from B3 to size 7.
