AkzoNobel has launched a range of additives designed to enhance antifog performance in food packaging and agricultural films.
According to the Netherlands-headquartered producer of chemicals and polymers, the first product in the new range is marketed under the name Armofog 151 and improves hot and cold fog performance of polyethylene and EVA food packaging films.
AkzoNobel is also offering a high performance concentrate called Armofog 151-XE35, a free-flowing granular form of Armofog 151 containing 35% active antifog additive, which can be dosed directly to the extruder.
“Customers demand easy to use antifog additives that save operational time and costs,” says Haimo Tonnaer, the company’s business development manager for polymer additives.
“Our Armofog 151-XE35 goes beyond standard antifog additives, allowing for easy handling and dosing while offering all the advantages of pure Armofog 151.”
Antifog additives offer the solution to problems related to the formation of water droplets on plastic films, enhancing product appeal and shelf life in food packaging applications.
