The use of electron beams in curing, sterilization and materials modification applications can be evaluated on a new laboratory unit from Adevanced Electron Beams. Compact and modular, the E-Beam lab unit has a solid state power supply and emitter subsystem said to achieve up to 200 micron penetration without the active pumping, large footprint and expense of conventional systems. A 21.59cm x 25.4cm sample tray and an adjustable chamber provide for processing samples up to 6.35cm height. A touchscreen controller will change the power and dose, and is scalable in production environments.
Available with 100, 125 or 150kV power supplies, the E-Beam lab unit can be supplied with optional nitrogen inerting and water cooling. It incorporates plug-and-play maintenance and all components, being modular, can be replaced on-site.
