Action to help with cutting energy costs

2 August 2002

Action Energy is a new UK Government initiative introduced by the Carbon Trust to help businesses in the plastics and rubber industries cut their energy costs through the provision of free professional advice and assistance. Organizations from multinationals to small businesses will be able to receive "free and impartial" advice on how to save money by reducing energy use.

Small and medium-sized companies that require capital investment to become more energy efficient, can also benefit from interest-free Energy Loans of between £5,000-£50,000, repayable over four years.

A further financial incentive is Enhanced Capital Allowances, which encourage investment in energy saving equipment. Call 0800 585794, or visit www.actionenergy.org.uk
