AB Graphic International installs first Digicon in Canada

21 September 2007

An Omega Digicon HS Converting line with sheeting capability has been installed at Phase 2 Labels – a first for any label converter in Canada. Phase 2 Labels, an integrated company of Montreal based Pazazz Printing, specializes in flexographic and digital label production. The line, supplied by AB Graphic International, joins the Phase 2 Labels’ new HP Indigo 4500 digital print engine.

“Our clients were increasingly requesting the option for short-run, flexible, colour printing often with variable data or personalisation,” said Warren Werbitt, president and CEO of Pazazz.

The Omega Digicon uses servo driven tooling technology that the company says, is optimized for minimising waste and set-up times and is capable of running a wide range of materials. The converting line offers options such as a UV flexo station for varnishing, wet laminating, cold foil, self wound over laminating, over laminating with carrier, super varnishing, in-feed nip modules, unwind unit for off-line use, daylight correction system, and semi rotary silk screen in single or multiple combinations.
