‘Professional-level diecutter at entry-level price’

19 October 2011

Together with distribution partner Heidelberg, Kama has launched the ProCut 74 SE (Special Edition) automatic die cutter for job printing, label printing and packaging printing. Offered as a cost-effective entry point for professional post-press processing, the SE is said to perform diecutting, creasing and perforating operations, as well as blind embossing to the highest quality standards.

"Not everybody wishes to take their first steps in the print finishing market with a high-end machine," explains Kama CEO Marcus Tralau. “The new model has been tailored to meet the needs of basic applications encountered on a daily basis in printing shops and offers tried-and-tested Kama technology at an attractive entry-level price. Customers can reach the break-even point much more quickly than most would expect," he stresses.

The new flat-bed die cutter is claimed to be a perfect high-performance replacement for long-serving platen press and cylinders. It can process up to 4,500 sheets/hour and, according to the manufacturer, “out-performs the cylinder cutters by a factor of two to three”.

Changeovers are said to be quick and easy on the 740 x 600mm format ProCut 74 SE, which will process paper weights ranging from 100-1,500g.
