Stanford launches continuous operation equipment
11 May 2007
Following the successful introduction of its SM-10 Seammachine for shrink sleeve labels, US manufacturer Stanford Products has launched a continuous operation version of the equipment. The SM-10T series offers lay-flat sizes from 25-300mm, and is capable of forming sleeves from PVC, PET-G, OPS and PLA shrink films.
This new range of equipment offers a choice of three levels of operation ranging from single position to dual position, to non stop unwinds - all with non stop three-spindle turret rewinds. Capable of operating and indexing at a maximum speed of 500m/min, the SM-10T series is said to offer shrink sleeve producers a higher level of performance with increased speed, reduced waste, and ease of operation.
Said to include “new approaches” to tension control, solvent dispensing and rewind oscillation, this new machine builds upon the foundation of the original seaming equipment first released by Stanford more than two years ago. The company states that it has various options available for lay-flat and seam inspection, and that the non stop feature can be added to equipment already installed in the field.
