New from nano

11 May 2007

Made with the company's proprietary nanotechnology, the patent pending Lumirror FA5 matte polyester film from Toray Plastics (America) is said to allow brand owners to specify the exact level of gloss desired, while maintaining excellent clarity. Suitable for food packaging and label applications, the co-extruded film is also FDA compliant, tack sealable, and said to be easy to print. The surface is primed for enhanced adhesion by water and solvent based, and UV curable inks. Said to handle well on high speed equipment and to be easy to convert, the new film offers excellent thermal stability, high strength and dimensional stability. Its tensile strength is claimed to be 50 per cent greater than that of traditional filled matte polyester films.
