Innovations from Bobst
13 June 2007
Two new folder gluers will be launched by Bobst this month. The Visionfold and Starfold are dedicated to the microflute and laminated markets and will, it is claimed, reduce fishtailing and gap problems by half. Other recent innovations include the AccuBraille module designed to emboss Braille characters on boxes during the folding and gluing process. It can be mounted after the Accufeed of new Alpina II and Mistral folder gluers or installed as a retrofit, and will run at up to 75,000 boxes/hour or a speed of 240m/min, depending on the blank pitch. The system works on the Marburg Medium standard, with a maximum of four lines and will handle materials from 200-500g/m2. The tolerance is +/- 1mm in all directions. In addition to its dynamic register system, the new Foilmaster 104FR foil stamping press benefits from a new CUBE II control system with foil saving and machine setting options all from one interface.
