FLEXO INSIGHT: Rebranding at EFIA continues

5 October 2010

by Debbie Waldron-Hoines, Executive Director, EFIA.

Since the official relaunch of the EFIA (UK), formerly European Flexographic Industry Association, the Board of Directors has been working hard to establish a structure for a new winning strategy. At its heart are five key areas:

¦ Training and development;

¦ Productivity improvements and innovation;

¦ Promoting competition and recognising performance within the industry;

¦ Industrial & B2B marketing;

¦ Providing unbiased technical support.

These streams of activity are seen as fundamental to EFIA continuing to take a leading role in promoting flexographic printing within our industry.

As such, we are pleased to welcome Joanna Stephenson, Marketing Director for Sun Chemical and Dean Stanford, Print Manager of Amcor Flexibles onto our Board to help us develop and implement this strategy.

The mission of EFIA is to become a natural extension of our member companies in terms of print technical support, education, innovation and promotion.

Through our training function, EFIA will continue to develop the Academy, the highly successful online training and mentoring programme. We will also offer bespoke training and development, hands on training, lean manufacturing programmes and new ‘EFIA challenges’ into 2011.

EFIA is proud to work closely with the Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating (WCPC) and with the help of Professor Tim Claypole MBE, it can be assured that EFIA is at the cutting edge of technological developments, as well as having access to the underpinning science of print technology to help our members improve productivity, consistency and profitability.

In addition, the EFIA Technical Helpline on +44 (0)1792 606768 is provided for 24-hour technical support, which gives members an unbiased third party viewpoint.

Finally, the renowned EFIA Print Awards & Gala Dinner Event will take place on 30 March 2011 at the Armouries in Leeds. A supporting exhibition will take place on the same day, and also a lively seminar with key industry speakers among the focal points. Topics to be discussed at this first-time event will be highly relevant to the industry’s future.
