FLEXO INSIGHT: Print Awards warmly received

20 January 2011

by Debbie Waldron-Hoines, Executive Director, EFIA

As the new year begins, the European Flexographic Industry Association can report it had a very high number of entries for its annual Print Awards competition, helped by an extension to its original entry deadline. The additional time was given because of delayed shipments and closed plants resulting from the extraordinary weather conditions experienced in many parts of the UK and Europe during November and December 2010.

David Galton, EFIA Chairman, commented: “Despite the difficult delivery situation, over 250 entries were received during November and December and we want to give the European flexo industry the best opportunity, as always, to show off its capabilities in what has become the industry’s most prestigious print awards competition.”

The judging of the entries on 11-12 January was undertaken by a panel comprising several industry experts, including Barry Collier (Senior Project Leader, Sun Chemical), David Pegg, (Artwork Team Manager, Cadbury Design Studio), Norman Jackson (Operations Director, Interflex Group) and Michael Wilson (Production Manager, CRP Print and Packaging).

The EFIA Print Awards Gala Dinner will be held on 30 March at The Armouries, Leeds. There is still time to book and enquire about event sponsorship; email debbie@avant-tout.com or visit the EFIA website.
