Polytype Switzerland - Drying Technology

9 June 2008

Polytype Converting AG presents its new polyDry SpeedMax – Today’s fastest and most powerful support roll dryer in the converting industry.

The conceptual advantages of support roll dryers are useful for fast and wide machines as well. The new model SpeedMax completes the well proven Polytype dryer range of support roll dryers in the high end field.

With the operation of up to 6m long dryer sections a very competitive price-performance ratio is achieved for the new compact support roll dryer also for fast and wide high performance drying applications. The new dryer is built with hollow support rolls.

Key features:

nozzles individually exchangeable
fans with direct drive without belts
several heating medias applicable
recirculating air filter easy exchangeable
production speed up to 1200 m/min
temperature range up to 250 °C

Major advantages:

Easy access to all nozzles (sections open parallel) and to the various internal air ducts (doors on front and back side). These are very important features for silicon coating lines where cleaning is a big concern.

The support rolls with its precise controlled drive system assure a flawess web guidance of thinnest substrates in all production situations and allow line fast stops without web breaks and uncontrolled run out of the support rolls.

The integrated air handling and recirculating system builds very compact therefore reduces the number of air ducts and loss of energy.

Very low surface temperature on the external dryer walls due to minimal thermal bridges and optimal insulation.

High precision support rolls for high speed and large web width.
