At the end of Drupa 2012 Corporate Management of Erhardt+Leimer concluded that this year’s show had been a full success for the control and inspection specialist and had confirmed the leading market position of the company headquartered in Leitershofen, Germany.
Drupa is the world’s leading trade fair for the printing and media industry. It takes place every four years and is regarded as an important indicator for the current and future development of this industry. According to Dirk Schroeder, E+L Sales Division Manager, Drupa has emphasized that “E+L ranks as No. 1 in the world market”. This became particularly obvious by the fact that almost every machine displayed at the show had been equipped with solutions provided by Erhardt+Leimer.
During the entire show the newly designed E+L booth had been well attended by the visitors coming from all over the world. They appreciated its open construction, the wide range of information possibilities and rest areas which allowed them to get all the information they required. Not only were the visitors interested in newly developed products such as the web tension controller DC62, but also in the well-tried ELSCAN and NYSCAN inspection systems of E+L. In particular the new combination of 100 % inspection and video inspection was very well received by the international audience.
Apart from that, the visitors were highly interested in the new ELTIM solution for thickness measurement. The product is playing an important role in the growing partnership between MeSys and Erhardt+Leimer. Due to thickness measurement of coating within the range of two grams per square meter the new ELTIM system guarantees total product control.
A trend which had been observed during other shows before has become evident at drupa as well. The number of visitors concluding contracts directly at the booth and paying cash immediately is growing constantly. Thus, E+L was able to conclude orders totalling hundreds of thousands of Euro during the show.
Dr. Michael Proeller, CEO, and Wolfgang Merkel, COO of Erhardt+Leimer are however convinced that the company’s success has not only been a result of the trend but is also based on the new and comprehensive information strategy introduced by E+L. “Big investments have been made over the past months”, new media have been used and films were shot about individual E+L divisions and products. As a result “our customers are very well informed and can therefore make their decisions faster”.
